The development team at Blue Ocean has recently released a pair of cross-platform IPhone and Android apps for NCS Energy services. Both apps are available now in the Apple App store and the Google Play store.

NCS came to Blue Ocean looking for a more intuitive way for employees to track and submit safety information anywhere, any time while on the job without needing a workstation or internet connection. The NCS HSE app is the result; with a user-friendly interface that allows employees to submit Incident Reports, Trip Assessments and a Safety Passport to store their training certifications. Calgary has a new attraction opening up today called Cobb's Corn Maze & Family Fun Park! The park is family owned and operated venture and they have fun-filled activities for people of all ages.

The main attraction is the unique corn maze but they have so much more going on at the fun park including: fence maze, rope maze, straw bale maze(s), hop dots, puzzle mazes, punching pumpkins, fabulous finger game, giant board games, playground structures, pedal carts, tire mountain & slide, hayride, toddler town, one free craft, and much more!

Throughout the years of 2011 and 2012, Blue Ocean Interactive decided to expand it's services and get into the mobile app development industry. We went on to develop new ideas and strategies of what our first app should be and we ended up choosing to go with the idea of Child Guardian; an app that would help parents alert their friends, family, and the Child Guardian Network if their child or loved one went missing. During the development process of the Child Guardian app, Blue Ocean began to build an online marketing strategy to promote the new app and one of the ideas that came up was to create a Youtube channel that would showcase videos meant to entertain the children of the Child Guardian Network. This idea lead to the creation of children related 'mashup' songs as well as classic children's stories being read while following the illustrations within the book.

Our building is the one you see circled. This was on June 19th, 2013, at the highest point of the flooding.

On June 18th, 2013, the downtown core of Calgary, Alberta, became a flood zone. Everyone in the downtown core along with 25 other communities near the Elbow and Bow rivers were evacuated. Most evacuated people, including our office, were not allowed back until June 29th, 2013.

Our office was without power for 9 straight days and we were not allowed to access the building during that time. Being on the top floor of the building, we were extremely fortunate that our office was not actually damaged by the flood.

Our thoughts go out to all of the residents of Calgary and Southern Alberta, including many of our clients, colleagues and friends who have been dealing with the devastation left by the flooding.
